Best Boutique in Brussels?

Hunting and Collecting, the downtown clothing store, has received loads of praise from the design community since it opened two years ago. This unique shop is somewhat of a cross between an art gallery and clothing store, constantly evolving in both look and collections. The owners Aude Gribomont and Niels Radtke actually won the 2011 Commerce Design Brussels Award for the store’s interior and displays. This place is even getting some attention in the US here and here!

And now Hunting and Collecting could be voted the world’s best new boutique in 2012. The online fashion network farfetch.com has launched SUPERSTORE, a competition to select a new boutique for its online store and award a lucky winner with a trip for two and a £1000 shopping spree. farfetch.com brings together independent boutiques from around the world, offering over 1000 fashion labels, for both women and men. They’re currently offering free shipping until 20 December as a little Christmas bonus. The site already features three Belgian stores, including Francis Ferent in Brussels, and possibly soon a fourth. So go vote!

Some of the selection at Hunting and Collecting is slightly avant-garde for my personal taste, but I still like stopping by to see the every changing displays and creative designs. I am however currently coveting a few of the home décor items and accessories. Why do I love this leather bag by Antiatoms that looks like a paper sack?!

I think I need this coffee mug by Thabto Design at work for when things get rough 🙂

And this camel cashmere sweater from Surface to Air is calling my name on these cold, dark December days…

And if you needed more motivation to vote for Hunting and Collecting, they are throwing a New Year’s Eve party in Brussels this year.

17 Rue des Chartreux, 1000 Brussels
Tel: +32 2 512 74 77
Open Tuesday to Saturday, 12-8pm

Would you vote for Hunting and Collecting as the best new boutique? What shop in Brussels would you select as the best??

Hey! Can you recommend to me any cheap mens shoe shops here in Brussels? Everything seems to be just so expensive! I’m looking to pay nothing more than 40 euros for some mens ankle boots – can you suggest anything?

hi, i agree with you about h & c, i find myself popping in there regularly, have you been to the atelier in hoogstraat? there is a great little fashion store upstairs, downstairs are a cafe & furniture. i haven’t found other stores/spaces like those 2 in brussels, i know of ra in antwerp. there are some interesting stores just beyond zadig & voltaire in antoine dansaert heading towards the canal, and then around ixelles there are some stores in rue darwin, franz merjay and the african street square church (near bailli). if you can point me in the direction of some other interesting brussels stores i’d appreciate it!!
